A long recording ready to be split at silent gaps

Steps

  1. Open the long recording.
  2. Choose Process › Split by Silence.
  3. Set the silence threshold: how quiet counts as silence.
  4. Set the minimum silence (how long a gap must last) and the minimum clip length, so short pauses don’t create tiny pieces.
  5. Add a little padding so words and notes aren’t clipped.
  6. Check the preview count, then add markers, open the pieces as tabs, or save them as WAV files.
