Software Privacy Notice

How Audio Recorder Editor Free handles your files and data. Last updated 2026-10-17.

Your audio stays on your PC

Recording, editing, effects and exporting of local files happen on your computer. The program does not upload your recordings to us, and it does not need an account.

When the program goes online

  • Update check: if enabled (Help › Check for updates at startup), the program fetches release information. You can turn this off.
  • YouTube import: the link you paste is processed by the downloader, which connects to YouTube.
  • Helper components: when FFmpeg, yt-dlp or Deno are missing or being updated, they are downloaded from their official release hosts.
  • WebView2: if it is missing, Setup opens Microsoft’s download page.

These services have their own privacy policies.

Settings and presets

Your preferences, presets, drafts and backups are stored locally on your computer.
