How to Turn Text into Spoken Audio
There is no text-to-speech button in the current version. You can still make a spoken MP3: let a Windows voice read the text and record it with the computer-sound recorder.

Earlier versions included a text-to-speech tool. It is not part of the current Audio Recorder Editor Free, so this tutorial shows a free method that works on Windows 10 and 11 today.
Step 1: Get Windows to read your text
- Microsoft Edge: open the text as a web page or PDF and choose Read aloud. You can pick the voice and speed.
- Narrator: press Win+Ctrl+Enter to turn it on, then let it read the document.
Step 2: Record the voice
- In Audio Recorder Editor Free choose Tools › Record.
- Select your speakers or headphones as the playback (system) device. Leave the microphone off.
- Click Start, then start Read aloud in Edge.
- Click Stop when the reading ends.
Step 3: Tidy up and save
- Cut the silence at the start and end.
- Apply Normalize for a steady level.
- Export as MP3.
Check the terms of the voice you use before publishing the audio commercially.

Will notification sounds be recorded too?
Yes, system recording captures everything Windows plays. Turn on Do Not Disturb first.
Can I change the voice or speed?
Yes, in Microsoft Edge’s Read aloud settings. Pick a voice and speed before you start recording.
How do I remove the pauses between paragraphs?
Use Remove Silence, or split the recording with Split by Silence and keep only the parts you need.
